About the ETHS Health Center

  • The ETHS Health Center is a school-based health center, which is different and separate from the ETHS Nurses Office.  The Health Center is made possible by a partnership between Endeavor Health, Evanston Township High School, and the Evanston Department of Health and Human Services, with additional funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Health Center staff are employees of Endeavor Health.

    Mission Statement

    The ETHS Health Center welcomes and provides care for ALL ETHS students, empowering them to take agency of their own health care practices and optimize their lifelong physical and mental health.

    Services Offered

    At the ETHS Health Center, Endeavor Health physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers and public health nurses are available to provide primary health care and psychosocial services to all students who have a completed consent form on file.

    Bridges Program

    The Bridges Program for Endeavor Health offers at-school outpatient counseling and psychiatric services to all ETHS students.  Individual psychotherapy is offered in-person during school hours.  Telehealth appointments are also available.  In-person diagnostic and medication management services are provided by psychiatric fellows from Endeavor.  All students whose health insurance is accepted by Endeavor can receive services from Bridges.  Sliding scale services are offered to students who are uninsured or have insurance plans not accepted by Endeavor.

    Fees

    There is a small fee for physicals, flu vaccinations, and some lab tests. All other *services, including sick visits, are free. For students who have Medicaid/All Kids, there are no out-of-pocket expenses. It is Health Center policy to provide services to all ETHS students, regardless of ability to pay. No one will be turned away from services.

    *Recommended/scheduled immunizations are only available to students who qualify for the federal Vaccines for Children program (includes those with Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services Health Plan, uninsured, and American Indian or Alaskan Native).

    Parent Involvement & Student Confidentiality

    Parents or legal guardians sign a consent form giving permission for their student to access services at the ETHS Health Center (consent form in Spanish). Students 18 years old and older can consent to all medical services on their own. In accordance with Illinois state laws, there are some instances when minor students may be seen without parent/guardian consent (see Consent by Minors Medical Procedures Act, 410 ILCS 210 Section 4).
